CBNS ch.3

Last time we saw our three heroes, they were planning to rescue a boy with orange hair from the tribesmen of the island. After they successfully followed the two natives, they run into two gigantic doors protected by two guards in watchtowers.

"Hmmm, how are we going to enter?" asked Coco thinking carefully, which earned an odd look from his brother.

"What do you mean how? We're using Aku Aku of course! With his powers he can blow up the gates easily" answered Crash with a funny expression while pointing the flying mask.

"Yeah that's…Hey! Don't forget I'm a living being!" yelled the witch doctor to the human bandicoot.

"I said it in a nice way" sweat drops the male human bandicoot.

"Still that could alert them" answered Coco really focused in making a plan, which surprised the two. After a couple of seconds an idea came to her.

"I got it!" she exclaimed. "Come, I'll tell you what I have in mind".

Minutes later, the two tribesmen who were protecting the doors began to talk in a strange language.

"Hey! You guys up there!" shouted Crash calling their attention. When the two guards look down, they saw the two human bandicoots in front of the entrance to the village and only the male was waving them with a goofy smile.

"Listen we came to…" but before Crash could finish his words.

"Spears!" shrieked Coco, and both she and his brother quickly dodged the weapons thrown by the tribesmen.

"Guys, guys relax!" yelled Crash. "We just want to return you this" said showing them Aku Aku. The tribesmen suddenly stop and look with awe the mask; they talk again in their strange language and abandon their guard posts. Seconds later, they open the doors ready to take the mask from them by force.

"Easy, there's no need to use violence" said the brown haired bandicoot trying to calm the angry tribesmen.

"Now?" whispered Aku Aku to Coco.

"Yeah" she answered, and the powerful witch doctor used his powers to knock down the two guards.

"Alright it worked! Let's go" said the blond bandicoot and the three managed to enter the village.

"As expected of my smart little sister, I'm proud of you" stated Crash winking his right while smiling and giving her a thumbs up.

"Dummy" she whispered totally blushed.

After they passed many wooden houses, without been spotted by the tribesmen, they arrived to what it look like the square of the village. Where, most of the inhabitants were gathered as well as a herd of wild boars.

"What are they doing?" asked Crash.

"It looks like they're making some kind of buffet" answered Aku Aku.

"Oh no…you don't think they're planning to eat the boy do you?" asked Coco worried, which made his brother get serious in their mission.

"Then we just have to find him before that happen" responded grabbing her hand and taking her to another place. Aku Aku was about to follow them, but he suddenly felt a strange sensation.

"It can't be…here?" he asked confused and look a big wooden house that stand out the others. Forgetting about that uneasy feeling, he quickly followed the two young human bandicoots.

Despite of being three, finding one house in particular wasn't exactly an easy task. Both human bandicoots and the enchanted mask were beginning to get tired and desperate.

"This…is ridiculous" panted Coco like Crash. "We checked all the houses and he wasn't there" she said. Then she looked behind them. "Maybe we should have looked in that big house before leaving that place".

"Well…"panted his brother. "We're here and this is the last house, we should at least take a look" and the young human bandicoot jumped and grabbed of the edge of the window.

"Coco now that you mention that big house…" said Aku Aku when.

"Coco I found him! He's here!" exclaimed happily Crash.

"Really?!" asked his sister excited.

"Yeah! Give me your hand" and the blond bandicoot grabbed the hand that his brother offered her. Once she grabbed it, he easily pulled her to where he was. Knowing that they didn't feel what he could, Aku Aku decided that it should be better to tell them after they rescue the kid.

Inside that particular house, the orange haired boy was struggling no-stop to tear apart the ropes that bound his wrists, arms and ankles. But it was futile since he couldn't loose the nods.

"Damn…" he sighed. "If only I had my fangs back, I could easily cut these ropes".

"Maybe we could help" said Coco calling his attention. When the boy looked up, he saw the two human bandicoots and the flying mask in front of him, but only the blond one called his attention the most since he couldn't take his eyes from her.

"Y…yeah" he nodded while blushing. In that moment, Crash sat the boy on the floor and started to untie him.

"What's your name?" she asked.

"Pu…Pura! My name is Pura!" he exclaimed still blushing.

"That's a nice name" she answered smiling.

"Wow…she's cute" he thought.

"Done!" exclaimed Crash once he freed the boy's wrists and arms, letting him untie his ankles.

"Thanks guys" he answered, now stand and completely free. Then he took a close look of his saviors and noticed something that didn't do before.

"Wait…you are those guys that caused that havoc in the laboratory!" he pointed them.

"Laboratory? Don't tell me you were also turned into human by Cortex" asked Coco surprised like Crash and Aku Aku. Pura only tighten his hands like fists in response, only to calm himself later.

"Yeah…I was a tiger until those crazy people transformed me into a human. They did the same with my friends Polar, who was a polar bear, and Penta, who was a penguin" (Polar and Penta human style by 123soleil) he told them while remembering how everything started.

"After that happened, they threw us into the dungeons since we didn't look suitable for the army. But not before seeing you dealing with those creeps and escaping. Later, when we were in a cell, a blonde girl set us free".

"Wait! Did you say a blonde girl?!" asked Crash too excited.

"Well, yeah" answered Pura taking the bandicoot hands off of his shoulders.

"Yay! Tawna is fine!" yelled the brown haired bandicoot with a funny face and his fist in the air. His friends were sweat dropping, however, his sister had a vein in her forehead.

"Where is she?!" asked Crash again too excited.

"That I don't know" answered taking off his hands again. "She said something about meeting with someone special".

"Someone special? She's looking for me! Ouch!" said the male human bandicoot, after his sister punched him in the face.

"Sorry Pura, please continue" Coco responded smiling, but still showing her angry vein. Both Aku Aku and Pura were scared of this new personality of her.

"Su…sure" he hesitated. "Once we were free, we managed to escape from that place with the help of a boat that those guys left carelessly and arrived to this island in the morning".

"What about your friends? Where are they?" asked the witch doctor.

"They're probably in the jungle waiting for me, since those tribesmen captured me after I freed a boar that they captured" answered Pura, which immediately calm the heroes now knowing that those tribesmen weren't terrifying as they thought.

"I probably should go there before Polar starts to worry too much about me and Penta scolds me for doing that" added the boy.

"We should go as well Crash" said his sister.

"Yeah" nodded his brother.

"Wait, there's something we need to do before leaving the village" stated Aku Aku. However, before he could explain why, the door began to open and quickly the four hid. It was when two tribesmen enter the house and panic once they saw that Pura wasn't there. Afraid, they start to talk in their language very fast.

"Quiet!" yelled a rough voice behind the tribesmen. The two quickly stood aside and a really chubby native entered the house. With his angry look, he examined the room from one side to the other.

Crash, Coco and Pura, startled by his appearance, did not make a single move or sound. Aku Aku instead was not startled but serious as he saw that the chubby native had a necklace with a pink crystal.   

"Hear Papu!" shouted the native, who was obviously their leader. "Papu want you look for prisoner. Papu think he's still here in village. Search now!" and the three tribesmen left.

"So that's where the power crystal is" whispered Aku Aku.

Their mission was a success, but why our witch doctor is so worried about that crystal? Find out in the next episode.
